Role Summary

Reporting directly to the Purchasing and Logistics Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and ordering commodities and overseeing a circa £7 million onsite inventory. They will join a vibrant and progressive team delegating and mentoring the team under the stewardship of the Purchasing and Logistics Manager.Operating in a high performing and dynamic environment, they will control the requirement of goods by analysing trends and market demands as well as working with the challenges that the supply market puts forward, in what is a key operational position to the business. A good knowledge of Sage 200 is highly desirable but not essential, as is MCIPS which again is desirable but not essential.

Main Responsibilities

Analysing the stock position of the business and utilising this data to forecast and propose future stock orders using Sage MRP.
Creating BOMs to satisfy build requests forecasting and ordering goods as required.
Careful analysis over stock movements and pre-allocations, correcting and reordering as necessary.
Overseeing direct supply opportunities and managing the service delivery through to completion by managing the expectations of internal stakeholders.
Overseeing sundry stocks and the ordering process delegating and regulating work flow as required.
Following through all stock queries and requests to satisfy customer and internal stakeholder demands, procuring stock and correcting the inventory portfolio as necessary.
Actively participating in perpetual stocktakes, maintaining inventory accuracy through Sage, and reporting to the Head of Finance and Purchasing and Logistics Manager where necessary.
Monitoring and reporting on the flow of goods into the warehouse function maximising data integrity and reporting product defects to suppliers.
Creating and owning the monthly and weekly reporting over inventory through analysing company data before reporting areas of concern and suggesting suitable corrective actions.
Working with live system data to determine stock trends and movements and translating this into MRP orders.
Consistently and continuously reviewing product trends and movements so to ensure the accuracy of stock reorder levels and the minimum stock holding levels.
Controlling and reporting on stock holdings and reserves through Sage and other bespoke Excel models.
Monitoring and reporting suggested actions to customer facing stakeholders over obsolete stock and EoL product lines.
Working closely with the Import and Export Planner ensuring that product lead-times are catered for, and appropriate transportation methods are utilised.
Regularly reporting performance concerns and wins over vendor performance to the Purchasing and Logistics Manager, and actively participating in supplier management initiatives.
Translating purchasing pricing into landed costings for circulating and reporting into neighbouring departments.

Key Attributes and Experience

You will need to be able to demonstrate a proven track record in forecasting and ordering stock, ideally using Sage 200 or a similar tool.
Demonstrating past successes and to show robust experience in maintaining a substantial pool of fast-moving stock.
Experienced and comfortable handling a large portfolio of stocked items that exceed 1500 in active stock with a typical stock turn over rate of more than 3% per month.
You must be able to, and be comfortable with delegating to fellow team members and regulating workflow and department output with minimal supervision.
Good Microsoft skills, particularly Excel are essential.
Flexibility and composure under pressure.
Possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Detail oriented and experienced in working with multiple data sets, you will be skilled at identifying issues and proactive in proposing solutions.
Change-oriented, with a strong focus on stakeholder service delivery.
Experience of producing analytical reports and presenting on these.
