DVS Awarded The Fastest Growing Distribution Firm in Wales, in the annual FG50 Awards.

CARDIFF company DVS has received an award for the Fastest Growing Distribution Firm in Wales.

The award, part of the annual Fast Growth 50 project and sponsored by Marble Recruitment, was given to DVS for its growth in the distribution sector after the company was unable to pick it up at the ceremony in October.

Established in 2003, DVS imports quality products for the CCTV industry from Korea and distributes to professional CCTV installers throughout the United Kingdom.

Its clients are professional security installation companies, and many customers have DVS products specified on installations in large retails chains, local government projects, and industrial applications.

The two directors of the business, Shaun Bowie and Scott Douglas, have been involved in either the installation or distribution of CCTV equipment for a combination of 30 years, and they felt that a gap in the market existed for the supply of high quality, mid-range priced products.

Mr Bowie said the business is investing continuously in further growth.

He said, "We opened an office in Rochdale this summer to service the North of the England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

"The company also hopes to utilise trade facilities with an international bank to enable larger quantities of stock to be purchased thus bringing landed cost of items down.

"We are also implementing ISO 9001:2000 quality management standards to improve the inherent structure of the company in the future."

Paul Gorin, managing director of Marble Recruitment, said, "The distribution industry is rarely recognised as a growth sector, although it is clear that there are increasing opportunities for Welsh businesses who wish to enter the market.

Professor Dylan Jones-Evans, founder of the Fast Growth 50 project, said, "I am proud that yet another Welsh firm is making an impact on its sector. Unforeseen circumstances meant that we could not present this particular award on the evening of the Fast Growth 50 dinner in October.

"However, I am glad that the achievements of DVS are being recognised and that this is the perfect early Christmas present for the business and its employees."
